Helena Malikova is the Financial Analysis Project Manager with Chief Economist Team at the European Commission’s DG COMP. During the 2009 financial crisis, Helena was part of the European Commission’s Task Financial Crisis Task Force where she helped assess the bailout and restructuring of numerous European banks. Helena later led the State aid investigation into the tax planning practices of Apple culminating in order to recover EUR 13 billion in Ireland – subject of ongoing litigation. Helena started her career with Société Générale and Credit Suisse as a Foreign Exchange (FX) sales trader, and she is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Helena graduated in Economics from the College of Europe in Brugge. She was a Fellow at UC Berkeley and is currently a Fellow at Hertie School Berlin.
